Senior Legal Counsel
London Permanent Referenz: MG23-0020
Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support on all business activities in Europe under the supervision of the Legal Director.
  • Plan, manage and address legal risks and compliance matters on projects.
  • Provide advice to the Management.
  • Lead legal support on transactions in Europe, including major or complex customer transactions.
  • Advise, negotiate and decide on material legal contract matters, including risk assessment.
  • Provide support on dispute resolution matters.
  • Manage intellectual property issues in coordination with the Group Legal Centre of Expertise.
  • Ensure legal compliance when launching major initiatives & projects in the region.
  • Provide support to local HR on employee-related legal issues as requested.
  • Manage risk mitigation of trade-related activities, in coordination with the Group Legal centre of expertise.
  • Ensure delivery according to internal customers’ expectations.
Qualifications
  • Law degree and bar admission.
  • 8 years of post-qualification experience, ideally related to the IT/Telecoms industry, working in an in-house or private practice environment.
  • Broad knowledge in commercial and corporate law.
  • Experience managing complex and international projects/deals.
  • Good understanding of business and regional business finance.
  • Knowledge of legal and industry trends and best practices.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills in English and in French. Other languages (particularly German) preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • Customer-focused and proactive approach.
  • Commercial and financial awareness.
  • Excellent transactional and people management skills and good regional cultural awareness.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and responsible for setting own goals within the context of the job purpose and strategic plans.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
